If you would like to "override" the Locations file (so you don't have a big list of locations to choose), you actually have to place a blank one into a different folder (See this article for an explanation of where that will be) but it's much easier to just use the "filter" box at the top of the list. "Save Current Options As Default." only saves out those things you see in the "Options" results (things like what databases are showing, what labels, grids etc.) (It's in the "Starry Night" menu if you're on OS X.) I'll have our head of customer support (Keiron) contact you about this if you'd like more help, but the way to set your home location is using the "File > Set Home Location." menu item.

And from what I read on the SN7 Support site, others are having similar troubles here.Įdit - according to the SN team (Dave and Keiron) the User Manual is incorrect (likely in several areas) and needs a rewrite. On top of that, I still am unable, following the User Manual, to successfully create my own Asterisms. All I'd really like is a blank Locations list and ability to create my own, not thousands of others to search through.Įdit - finally fixed and restored Home Location but still not sure why it dumped it in the first place.Īlso, when selecting new locations or trying to center on a new location of screen, the spacebar command to immediately move no longer works.Įdit - seems to have fixed itself late last night but not sure why. I've even gone into the Contents/Resources/SkyData/Locations folder and replaced the Earth-E.txt file with a blank, yet it still shows all the default viewing locations.

I've deleted and recreated my Home Location and then set "Save Current Options as Default" to no avail. SNP7 no longer saves or stores my Home Location, and keeps defaulting me to somewhere halfway around the world in some remote spot in China (seriously), even after multiple "Save Current Options as Default" - after resetting my viewing location. Is anyone else having serious troubles with this program? After 2-3 months ownership, and finally getting it updated to v7.2.0.455 so I can begin copying my Viewing Notes over, getting all my screen views configured, Home Location set and Viewing Locations saved, and all other options configured.
